The Swiss Stage of the Elite League concluded today. This is the first major tournament that Nigma Galaxy and Team Secret attended.

The Swiss Stage of the Elite League, a massive online Dota 2 tournament, concluded today. This is the first major tournament that Nigma Galaxy and Team Secret attended after their recent roster change. After a long lackluster time, fans were holding high expectations.

However, after intense matchups, Nigma exited with a score of 1-3. And Team Secret bowed out with a score of 2-3. OG and Tundra Esports, on the other hand, both advanced to the Round-Robin Stage with 3-1 scores.

The Swiss-System rule in the Elite League

It has been a while since a large Dota 2 tournament used the Swiss-System rule. This is a more common format in the major tournaments of another Valve game, Counter-Strike.

The Elite League featured 16 teams competing in the Swiss Stage. Each team played one best-of-three match against teams with the same record each day. They either won three matches to advance or lost three matches and were eliminated.

Nigma Galaxy was eliminated in the Elite League

After parting ways with loyal players MinD_ContRoL and GH last year. Nigma Galaxy welcomed back two legendary TI champions, Miracle- and Sumail, this season. They also added new blood with Fbz, formerly of Team Secret, and Matthew, a Peruvian player who finished fourth at The International 2022.

While everyone is looking forward to Nigma Galaxy's return to international competition, Team Falcons is rising in the MENA region. Nigma has limited opportunities to play in international tournaments.

Fans had high expectations for Nigma's first international event after their roster changes. Nigma Galaxy won their first Bo3 against Aurora in the Swiss Stage. But they were eliminated from the tournament after consecutive losses to Talon Esports, Tundra Esports, and Team Secret.

The first major event of Team Secret after the most recent roster changes

Team Secret, on the other hand, has struggled to find its form since the departure of superstar player Nisha in 2022. Legendary captain Puppey has been making adjustments to the team for a while.

The most recent roster change of Team Secret came in March of this year, swapping the support player Ekki for the former coach ah fu, and they welcomed back the greatest coach Heen.

They secured wins against Virtus.Pro and Nigma Galaxy but lost to BOOM, Blacklist International, and Aurora, all of whom have advanced to the Round-Robin Stage. Team Secret said goodbye to the tournament with a score of 2-3.

OG and Tundra Esports are heading to the Round-Robin Stage

Meanwhile, OG and Tundra Esports both advanced to the Round-Robin Stage with 3-1 scores. OG has been making frequent appearances in international tournaments since the official return of legendary player Ceb this season.

Tundra's story is not easy, but after the drama with MinD_ContRoL and the addition of Zai as General Manager, the team won every qualifier they attended. We may expect them to show some outstanding performances in the upcoming matches.
