Valve has defined a new effect – Knockback in Dota 2.

In the middle of late-night Dota 2 hours (at least in NA), Valve decides to drop a pretty sizable patch. The 7.36b patch has quick a large amount of changes in it. Thankfully the changes are mostly minor tweaks here and there to the many Facets of heroes. Although the patch is pretty big, there's no need to worry, here's a recap of the biggest changes of patch 7.36b.

Knockback and Forced Movement

There’s a new key difference between forced movement and a new effect called Knockback in patch 7.36b. Forced movement is considered any effect that forcibly moves a unit. On the other hand, Knockback is any effect that pushes or pulls a unit at a fixed distance. The full list of the abilities that are considered Knockback is below.

Item Changes of patch 7.36b

There have been several item changes featured in the 7.36b patch, from neutral items to upgraded items. You can check out the full list within the patch notes here. But here are the most critical changes:

Item Changes

  • Armlet of Mordiggian no longer provides Slow Resistance
  • Blade Mail's cost increased to 2300 (from 2100) due to an increase in the recipe cost (to 750)
  • Crimson Guard's Damage Block now equals 70 + 2.5%of the caster's max health
  • Nullifier now slows the target by 10% and the duration has decreased to 4 seconds

Neutral item changes

  • Whisper of the Dread's Spell amp decreased to 8%
  • Orb of Destruction's slow duration increased to 5 seconds
  • Ascetic's Cap health bonus decreased to 225 (from 250) and the regen bonus decreased to +18 (from +20)
  • Havoc Hammer's Strength bonus decreased to 14 (from 16)

Hero Changes of 7.36b

And now we get to the major part of every Dota 2 update: the hero changes. Rather than going through the entire list, here are some highlights of the 7.36b patch:

Arc Warden

  • The Order Facet
    • Magnetic Field attack speed increased to 30/60/90/120 and duration increased to 4/5/6/7s
  • Disorder Facet
    • Duration decreased to 4/5/6/7s
  • Talent Tree
    • Level 10 Talent Flux Cast Range increased from +175 to +200
    • Level 15 Talent Flux Duration increased from +1.5s to +2.0s

Axe

  • One Man Army Facet
    • Bonuses fade over a five-second duration
    • Radius increased to 700
    • Bonus strength can be broken
  • Abilities
    • Passive ability Armor per kill decreased to 0.2/0.3/0.4/0.5 but the Culling Blade multiplier increased to x3
  • Talent Tree
    • Level 15 Talent Counter Helix Damage decreased from +30 to +20
    • Level 20 Talent Culling Blade Damage decreased from +150 to +125

Dragon Knight

  • Corrosive Dragon Facet
    • Corrosive Breath Effect Bonus decreased to 20/30/40/50% in Elder Dragon Form
  • Frost Dragon Facet
    • Frost Breath Effect Bonus decreased to 20/30/40/50% in Elder Dragon Form
  • Abilities
    • Dragon's Blood health regen decreased to 2
    • Dragon tail damage decreased by 10 at all levels (to 60/90/120/150)

Faceless Void

  • Time Zone Facet
    • Now pierces debuff immunity
    • Turn speed manipulation increased to 40%/50%/60%
  • Abilities
    • Attack Projectile Slow increased to 35/40/45/50%
    • Radius increased from 500 to 600

Legion Commander

  • Stonehall Plate Facet
    • Overwhelming Odds damage barrier decreased to 40%
  • Abilities
    • Overwhelming Odds: Aghanim's Shard Radius for Bonus in Duel decreased from +200 to +150
    • Duel: Aghanim's Scepter no longer reduces Duel cooldown
  • Talents
    • Level 15 Talent Overwhelming Odds Damage per Hero decreased from +40 to +35

Muerta

  • Ofrenda Facet
    • When respawning, Muerta gains the effect and level of Pierce the Veil for 3/3.5/4s
      • Respawning with Ofrenda now refills Bottle

Phantom Assassin

  • Methodical Facet
    • Critical Damage increased to 325/450/575%
  • Abilities
    • Blur gives a bonus 3%/6%/9%/12% move speed bonus while active

Phoenix

  • Dying Light Facet
    • Effects are no longer applied by illusions
    • Percentage of missing health as damage decreased from 6% to 4.5%
  • Abilities
    • Blinding Sun duration decreased to 4s
    • Fire Spirits slow decreased to 50/80/110/140

Shadow Shaman

  • Cluster Cluck Facet
    • Hex no longer provides move speed
  • Abilities
    • Hex no longer provides damage amplication
    • Shackles shard now linger for 1.5 seconds (rather than 6)
    • Fowl Play no longer provides movement speed
  • Talents
    • Level 10 Talent +10 Hex Damage Amplification replaced with +1.75 Mana Regen

Wraith King

  • Abilities
    • Vampiric Spirit bonus Attack Speed in Wraith form decreased to 30/45/60/75 and bonus Movement Speed decreased to 10/15/20/25%
    • Mortal Strike's cooldown increased to 6/5.5/5.0/4.5s and Aghanim's Shard Damage bonus decreased to 50%
    • Reincarnation cooldown is now frozen while Wraith King is in Wraith form

And those are the major changes for Dota 2 patch 7.36b. Thankfully, the changes aren't world-shattering like patch 7.36. The patch mostly focuses on balancing out the impact of the previous patch, which was one of the biggest patches that Dota 2 has seen in a while.
