A Dota 2 mini patch has fixed almost two dozen bugs, including a bizarre boots-spawning bug with Meepo’s clones.

On the back of the massive 7.33 patch, and balancing 7.33c patch, Dota 2 today (May 16) received a mini update to fix a few of the more esoteric errors in the game. The patch dropped in the early evening, and was mainly some quality of life changes and bug fixes.

Full details can be found here, but for a quick summary, we’ve got you covered:

Thanks to a random bit of spaghetti code, Meepo’s clones were randomly creating boots when they picked up Healing Lotuses. While only minorly exploitable (I guess a free pair of boots every three minutes is kinda nice), its god bug to fix.

Also on the snagging list were some issues with Mars’ spear interrupting debuff immune targets (I could have sworn I got that BKB off, sounds like I was right!), and Hoodwink's Bushwhack doing a similar thing.

There’s also a number of tool tips that were fixed, and items that weren’t functioning correctly that have been sorted now:

  • Fixed Glimmer Cape's barrier to correctly block damage for items and abilities that go on cooldown on damage
  • Fixed Eye of the Vizier providing no Mana Regen
  • Fixed Specialist's Array providing constant bonus damage for melee heroes
  • Fixed Specialist's Array not providing the base bonus damage when ready to proc

Honestly, the speed and quality of these Dota 2 mini patches and fixes is very refreshing. The update that many nicknamed Dota 3, because of how much it changed the game, seems to have lit a spark in the developers who are passionately tweaking and tinkering with the game. Many of these patch go completely undocumented (at least in public), so it’s great to see these QoL changes shown off. Thank you Volvo!
