Crownfall Act IV, The Spires of Skywrath, has arrived in Dota 2 at last.

Crownfall Act IV has finally arrived in Dota 2, and with it comes one of the biggest and most exciting additions to the MOBA — a new hero, Kez.

Kez was previewed during The International 2024 but players were forced to wait as Valve constantly delayed the Crownfall patch. Originally Act IV was to be released in September, then October, then it was hinted at November but no date was given. Finally, on Nov. 6, Valve relented and released The Spires of Skywrath, the much-anticipated conclusion to the Crownfall saga.

Below you'll find the full patch notes for Crownfall Act IV and the release of Kez.

Announced at TI 2024, Kez is the 126th hero to join the Dota 2 roster. A flightless Kazumi, Kez is an Agility carry hero with a focus on mobility and damage. He is unique in that he can switch between two weapons, a Katana and a Sai, each granting him different abilities and effects.

Dota 2 fans have had to wait for Kez for a short while. He's the first hero since Ringmaster who arrived in August, but before that, players were waiting over two years for a new addition to the roster.

We've got a short preview of Kez's abilities below, but we've included all the details in our full skills and lore piece here.

Description
Switch DisciplineKez switches between his Kazurai Katana and his Shodo Sai. He gains different attack capabilities and abilities based on the equipped weapon. Cooldown reduced each hero level.
Echo Slash
(Katana)
Slashes forward in a line with his katana dealing a percentage of his attack damage and a brief slow. After a moment, Kez attacks the same area again, dealing bonus damage to heroes.
Grappling Claw
(Katana)
Kez swings on a grappling hook toward a targeted unit or tree. When colliding with the hook, the unit has slowed movement speed until Kez arrives. Once landing, Kez attacks with 100% life steal.
Kazurai Katana
(Katana)
Kez swings on a grappling hook toward a targeted unit or tree. When colliding with the hook, the unit has slowed movement speed until Kez arrives. Once landing, Kez attacks with 100% lifesteal.
Raptor Dance
(Katana)
Kez channels for one second, gaining debuff immunity and 100% magic resistance. If the channel completes without interruption, he slashes around the area, dealing damage based on the maximum health of the target. Kez is healed for a percentage of the damage and receives a strong dispel on completion.
Falcon Rush
(Sai)
Kez rushes toward enemy targets to deliver echoing secondary attacks. He has phased collision and an attack rate that is less affected by attack speed.
Talon Toss
(Sai)
Kez throws a Sai at a target. The Sai detonates, dealing damage and silencing all enemies nearby.
Shodo Sai
(Sai)
Kez's attacks and abilities with the Sai have a chance to mark enemies. Marked enemies are slowed, and the next attack Kez makes against the target gain True Strike and will stun the enemy, dealing critical damage.

Kez may activate the ability to disarm himself, lock his facing, and parry attacks and attack effects for two seconds. If an attack is parried, the target is stunned and marked.
Raven's Veil
(Sai)
Kez releases a smoke wave that applies a Sai Mark with Parry bonus to nearby enemies, briefly reducing their vision. Kez is granted bonus movement speed and invisibility until he attacks or casts a spell.

Act IV of Crownfall is now live, with Kez, Skywrath Mage, Vengeful Spirit, and the crew beginning their assault against the Queensguard and taking on Queen Imperia herself.

This act works much like the other three; play Dota, earn tokens, and progress through the maze until you reach the ultimate fight at the end. For Act IV, there are multiple paths for players to begin and heaps of rewards to earn!

Act IV's release means the entirety of Crownfall is now available to all players. For those that are late to the party, don't fret — you'll have plenty of time to go back and complete the past Acts and receive all the rewards.

Valve also unveiled the end date for Crownfall: January 15, 2025. You've got about two months to complete each act before it all goes away!
