It’s finally time for teams to travel and start the major-tournaments season!

After a whole three months brimming with Fissure and ESL events, we've relished the BetBoom Dacha series. Moreover, it's truly splendid to witness the EPT ranking system, driven by DreamLeague and ESL One. However, one significant player was noticeably absent. Thus, with the announcement of PGL Wallachia, alongside seven more $1 million tournaments, the entire cycle feels fulfilled.

For this inaugural PGL event of the year, ten teams secured direct invitations based on their past performances. Additionally, one slot was designated for closed qualifiers in each region. What caught the community off guard was the absence of a qualifier slot for the MENA region. Consequently, teams such as PSG.Quest and Nigma Galaxy found themselves compelled to compete in the Western European qualifiers.

PGL Wallachia teams

Sixteen teams will be playing for $1 million. While 10 teams were directly invited to the main event, the remaining six had to endure the closed qualifiers. Here are all the teams playing, their region, and how they got to the main event:

  • Team Liquid (Invited WEU)
  • Gaimin Gladiators (Invited WEU)
  • Team Secret (Invited WEU)

Group stage: 5 rounds

  • Modified "swiss system" (Bo3)
  • Top eight teams advance to playoffs
  • Bottom eight teams are eliminated

Playoffs: Double-elimination bracket

  • Upper and lower brackets will be Bo3
