Diablo 4’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, has been revealed at BlizzCon. Details are sparse, but the expansion will release late in 2024.

Diablo fans rejoice as Blizzard Entertainment has unveiled the first expansion for Diablo IV, Vessel of Hatred. The first expansion for D4 was revealed at BlizzCon on Friday, Nov. 3, alongside a new trailer.

Not many details have been revealed, except an estimated release window and the rough theme. Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred will deal with Mephisto, and his plans for Sanctuary, while the expansion will likely take place in the jungle-like region of Torajan.

Diablo 4 production director Tiffany Wat stated that the expansion will feature a "completely new class never seen before in Diablo." The Torajan region was last seen in Diablo 2, and Diablo 3's Witch Doctor class had its origins in the area. This could hint at some kind of Witch Doctor-inspired class, but that wouldn't fit the bill for something we haven't seen before.

More details will apparently be released in Summer 2024.

Diablo IV has had a resurgence of late, in part due to its popular Season of Blood content. Still, criticism of the game and its gameplay loop persist.

This is a developing story and will be updated with more information as it is release.
