Valve’s Deadlock might not be out yet, but the game already has a thriving community with custom lobbies and even small tournaments taking place. The MOBA cum shooter game brings the best of both game genres together and creates a unique experience for players. If you are looking to play the game and experience it with your best friends, here’s how to make Custom Lobbies in Deadlock.
How to Make Custom Lobbies in Deadlock
You can create custom lobbies in Deadlock, allowing you to compete and play with your friends. You can also technically host your small tournaments with players from the community. Here’s how you do it.
- Launch Deadlock
- Open the console by pressing F7 (read on to find out how to change the console button)
- Enter the following command in the console - “private_lobby_create”
- This command will open your custom lobby - It will have two lobbies: The Amber Hand and The Sapphire Flame
- Players can join the lobby and take their respective team slots - either Sapphire or Amber.
Custom Lobby Settings
There are multiple custom lobby settings to help you customize your lobby as per your requirements. You can change the region as well as the difficulty level of bots in the game.
Unassigned players will be shown in a separate area - and you can assign them or ask them to choose a side. As we mentioned previously, there are two teams: The Ambed Hand and the Sapphire Flame.

How to Share Custom Lobby Invite Code
Every custom lobby has a different invite code. You can share the Custom Lobby Invite code with your friends in DMs to get them to join your lobby. The invite code will be useful to get players into your lobby.
The Custom Lobby Invite Code can be found in the top right corner of the screen. It is hidden by default to ensure streamers don’t end up with random players joining their lobby.
Deadlock is still in the Beta invite phase, which means the process may change with future iterations of the game. Creating a custom Lobby and getting your friends into the same game is a lot of fun and we definitely recommend playing the game together. Deadlock is a 6v6 game with four different lanes that players can push through to try to end the game.
