PGL Stockholm Major crosses 1 million peak viewers during Heroic vs Virtus.Pro

The CSGO Major is already the third highest in terms of hours watched.

The PGL Stockholm Major has crossed a million concurrent viewers during the first day of the playoffs. 

The match between Heroic and Virtus.Pro saw 1,010,611 viewers watching the stream at the same time according to EScharts. The next most-watched game was the other quarter-final between G2 and Ninjas in Pyjamas with 913,096 viewers. Heroic and G2 advance to the semifinals at the Avicii Arena. 

The PGL Stockholm Major is the first CS: GO  Major in nearly two years. It is also one of the first ‘LAN events’ with a live audience cheering for their favorite players at the venue. The Major venue has been sold out for most of the initial days and there are similar expectations for the Grand Finals. 

Which are the Top  5 Most-Watched Matches at the PGL Stockholm Major?

The two Champions stage matches were the most popular Stockholm Major matches at the time of writing.

Virtus.pro and Heroic was the most-watched match while G2-NiP came in next. The next three matches feature Legends Stage match-ups: NiP vs NAVI, FaZe vs  VP and NiP vs CPHF.

However, as we progress deeper into the Major, and especially closer to the Grand Finals, CS:GO fans can expect more viewers to tune in. 

PGL Stockholm Major: Marching Ahead in ‘Hours Watched’

PGL Stockholm Major is already one of the most popular Majors with a high number of viewers. There are quite a few matches yet to go, but the tournament has already surpassed the StarLadder Berlin Major in terms of ‘Hours Watched’.

PGL Stockholm is now third all-time in total hours watched for a CS:GO event with over 49 million hours.

The FaceIT London Major (62 million) and IEM Katowice 2018 (52 million) are the only two Majors ahead. But PGL Stockholm Major still has 5 best-of-threes to go, and there is a good chance of this year’s Major breaking all records. 

The Stockholm Major is currently underway and Heroic and G2 esports are the first two teams to qualify to the semifinals.
