The second Major of 2024 might be in Asia.
Counter-Strike 2 will release in Summer 2023 and PGL is slated to host the first CS2 Major in 2024. Recently, Valve invited proposals from interested tournament organizers to place their bids for the remaining CS2 Majors for 2024 and 2025. As per the latest report by HLTV, Perfect World will place a bid for a CS2 Major in Shanghai, China.
Perfect World is developing plans to host the second CS2 Major in Shanghai, China in December 2024 as per reports by HLTV.org and Dust2.com.br. This would mark the first tie Asa hosts a Counter-Strike Major as the region did not host a single Major in CS:GO.
Finally brining a Counter-Strike Major to Asia
Earlier this month, Valve decided to rejig the CS2 Major dates to align them with the player break dates. The new dates mean the Majors will take place right before the player breaks, allowing players to relax and take a much-needed break after the CS2 Majors.
Perfect World was in the race to host the second CS:GO Major in 2023. However, Valve scrapped plans for the second Major due to the impending CS2 release. Counter-Strike 2 will release in the Summer of 2023. The game brings improved graphics, responsive smokes, and a new sub-tick rate system. The sub-tick rate will allow players on all types of systems to enjoy CS2 based on their machines’ capabilities.

The second CS2 Major of 2024 will take place in early December with tentative dates as December 1-15. The RMR qualifiers, which send the final list of teams to the Major will likely take place over a month prior from October 26 to November 13.
BLAST hosted the only CS:GO Major of 2023 in Paris, France. Much to the local fans’ delight, Team Vitality showed up during the event and won the BLAST Paris Major after a 2-0 victory over Team GamerLegion.
