NEO joins FaZe as interim coach for IEM Cologne. Can the player find his footing as a Counter-Strike coach?

FaZe Clan has roped Filip "NEO" Kubski as their interim coach for IEM Cologne 2023. The announcement comes days after long-time FaZe Clan coach, Robert "RobbaN" Dahlström quit coaching earlier this month. This also marks NEO’s foray into a coaching role in CS:GO after a long and celebrated career as a player.

A celebrated player now moves to the Coach role

Replacing RobbaN on the team won’t be easy. The former coach, who has now moved on to ‘new challenges,’ has received consistent praise from his players. FaZe Clan has blossomed into one of the top VALORANT teams under his coaching.

Meanwhile, NEO doesn’t really have much coaching experience although he was one of the most celebrated players in his prime. The former Virtus.Pro roster was one most beloved rosters due to the players’ personalities as well as the roster’s performance.

IEM Cologne 2023 kicked off on July 26 and will continue till August 6. This is possibly the last event that Cologne will feature CS:GO. Counter-Strike 2 will launch in the Summer of this year with the next CS Major set to feature the new game.
