Cloud9 are looking to become the best CS:GO team in the world.

Cloud9 has today added the superstar CS:GO duo of Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy and Denis "electroNic" Sharipov to their roster. The new additions also mean that long-time IGL Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov and Timur "buster" Tulepov will be departing from the organization following a long stint of poor performances.

The move was first announced to Cloud9 fans during their latest Stratus round-table. During this call, Cloud9's CEO Jack Etienne confirmed that Sh1ro, HObbit, and Ax1le have also extended their contracts with the organization long-term along with the management. It was important for the organization to tie down the players long-term heading into CS2. Last year Ax1le was voted the best Rifler in the world while Sh1ro was among the world's best.

Moves for Cloud9 have been a long-time coming following a string of poor performances for a roster that should have been competing for the highest honors. C9, unfortunately, failed to qualify for the final CS:GO major, the BLAST.tv Paris Major. This was a major disappointment both for the organization and its fans who have invested a lot of time and effort to bring Cloud9 to the top of the professional Counter-Strike ladder.

It will be a challenge for the NAVI duo to adjust after playing with the same roster for many years. Both Perfecto and electroNic have been some of the main faces of the Natus Vincere, with the former joining in 2020 and the latter being part of the organization since 2017. Cloud9 fans will not have to wait long to see their new CS:GO roster in action. The organization is taking part in IEM Cologne starting on July 29.

Cloud9's CS:GO roster will lineup as followed:

  • Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov
  • Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov
  • Abai "HObbit" Hasenov
  • Denis "electroNic" Sharipov
  • Ilya "Perfecto" Zalutskiy
