NertZ is one of the best riflers in the world and should improve Team Liquid.
Team Liquid completed the acquisition of Guy "NertZ" Iluz on Jan. 6. The Israeli star will provide a huge boost in terms of raw firepower to Team Liquid as he was one of the best CS2 players in the world in 2024 while donning HEROIC's colors.
NertZ arrives in Team Liquid to effectively fill the void left open by Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis's benching. The Latvian was a liability for Team Liquid throughout most of 2024 as he struggled to put good numbers as their aggressive rifler.
"Extremely happy to have NertZ part of the team," Team Liquid's in-game leader Russel "Twistzz" Van Dunkel said about the signing. "It was not the first time I went on a search for him, very good Christmas present."
After losing NertZ and the trio of Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski, René "TeSeS" Madsen, and the AWPer Abdulkhalik "degster" Gasanov, HEROIC is trying to secure Sangal's players to retain some points in the Valve Ranking System.
NertZ will make his debut at BLAST Bounty Season 1, which features all the best CS2 teams in the world and kicks off on Jan. 18.

How will Team Liquid look with NertZ?
While the addition of NertZ provides a huge firepower boost, it doesn't come without some question marks.
This is because he isn't a 1:1 replacement to YEKINDAR as the Latvian plays far more aggressively. Even though NertZ isn't a passive type of rifler, he truly excels in mid-round and clutching.
So, in theory, unless Liquid shifts NertZ to YEKINDAR's roles on the T-side, they'll have to find another solution. This solution could be shifting Justin "jks" Savage to play contact with Twistzz, with NertZ coming behind to trade any kills.
