The Danish trio of Magisk, Dupreeh and Zonic will be playing an event at home for the first time in half a decade.

Team Falcons have qualified for the BLAST Premier Fall Finals 2024. This marks the first appearance in a Danish event for Danny "Zonic" Sørensen, Emil "Magisk" Reif, and Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen since 2019, as they will lead Team Falcons into the Forum Copenhagen.

"It does come with a certain amount of pressure, and you need to deal with that." - Zonic on Team Falcons

Before the match, coach Zonic was interviewed by James Banks on the broadcast to discuss Team Falcons' journey so far. In the interview, the coach was quite direct about the team's ambitions and how the players have to live up to the pressure.

I think so, yes. But I think that is what is needed if you join a team where the ambition is to become the best team in the world. It does come with a certain amount of pressure, and you need to deal with that. That's also what's going to help you go really far at big tournaments or a major. A lot of these players have done it before, so I don't think we can use that as an excuse.

Zonic was quite positive about his team's recent performance at Cologne and against Complexity in the showdown. But he stressed that Virtus.Pro remains a team with strong players who can turn up in form.

If we can play like we did against Complexity, but you never know with VP. There was the "good" VP that we saw at Cologne, from our perspective. But they have strong players and if they hit their shots, it's going to be a very tough opponent. Hopefully we have the upper hand, but against VP you need to be sharp always.

Zonic on VP matchup

Falcons front run both maps for a decisive win

Vertigo started off with a dominant lead for the Falcons as Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia and dupreeh led the CT side. The international side managed to pick up 10 rounds in the half, setting themselves up for what looked like an easy close. But VP's tenacity showed up once more, and their own CT showing was making the map competitive. Jame's side pushed it to double digits, but in the end, Falcons closed it out 13-10.

Mirage was much of the same as the Falcons. Once again, they started on the CT side, and this time, it was Pavle 'Maden' Bošković on top. 9-3 was the scoreline on Mirage as the teams switched, but Falcons now remained in control. Jame's 1v4 clutch attempt was the closest VP came to stringing together a good response, but Snappi and co. closed out the map 13-6 to book a ticket to Copenhagen.

Copenhagen awaits Zonic, dupreeh, Magisk and Team Falcons

Over the past few years, Zonic and co. have been at the unfortunate end of some roster moves that have left them out of play at Copenhagen. Back in 2021, when the online era first ended, it was their blockbuster move to Vitality that made Astralis replace them with Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke and Benjamin "blameF" Bremer. Once in Vitality, the team failed to qualify in 2022 before Zonic and Magisk moved over to Falcons in 2023.

Finally, the most decorated Danish players will make the journey back home to fly the flag on stage. But can they make a deep run against the likes of NaVi, FaZe, Vitality, Liquid, and more?
