Spirit take down FaZe in a thriller to set up Astralis semi-finals
Team Spirit proceed to the Semi-Finals after a 2-0 win over FaZe at the World Finals. While the series score portrays a clean win, it was almost a classic FaZe clutch back. Finn "Karrigan" Andersen in particular was instrumental in keeping FaZe's hopes alive. In the end though, the firepower of Spirit's stars was too strong to overcome.

Map 1 - Mirage - donk and sh1ro prevent karrigan miracle
Mirage started off with donk immediately showing his prowess with a Deagle triple. While Spirit couldn't capitalise on the first, they kept a lead through the gun rounds. Towards the half's end FaZe Clan found by success on A to keep the score level. Once on the attack, donk was completely freed as he racked up seven opening kills to close FaZe's pick 13-10.

Map 2 - Anubis - Singapore gets a superb show
The crowds of Singapore got the perfect show as the game moved to Anubis. Spirit statted off with a pistol win, and FaZe replied with late A hits to tie the score 2-2. That set the stage for what was to come as the two teams remained neck and neck. Thanks to karrigan's incredible play with the Deagle, FaZe found two T-rounds to close the half with a minor lead.
Once they returned to the T-side again, Spirit looked set to run away with the scoreline as they did on Mirage. With sh1ro and zont1x performing well, the team went four rounds in a row to start the half strong. FaZe, however, were in no mood to surrender. karrigan's form from Mirage continued as he consistently found impact rounds, delaying the Spirit attack. Five on the trot gave FaZe match point and now it was Spirit on the backfoot.
FaZe could have locked the win in round 24 as they successfully held off the Spirit A attack. But chopper, who had found his way into the backlines, made the perfect call to rotate to B, catching broky in the lurch. That sparked off the Overtime battle as both teams refused to cede control. Eventually, after two overtimes, FaZe ran out of energy and Spirit seized the win 19-17.
Spirit now find themselves in the Semi-Finals of the World Finals after eliminating FaZe Clan. The chopper-led team will be thrust into the path of Astralis' honeymoon run, hoping to make a Finals appearance.
