The player is now on the Cloud9 Transfer list.

Cloud9 have revealed a change to their Counter-Strike roster with Dmitriy "sh1ro" Sokolov stepping down. The player is now on the transfer list ahead of the CS2 roster shuffles.

There’s no easy way to say this, but sh1ro has made the decision to step down from the Cloud9 CS2 starting lineu-up. As much as we would like to have him be part of our team, we want to respect his choice. As a result, we have mutually agreed to make sh1ro available for transfer.

Sh1ro on the Cloud9 transfer list

Sh1ro has been a part of Cloud9 CS:GO since April 2022 when Cloud9 signed the former Gambit roster. The player has been a crucial part of the Cloud9 journey over the past year with some incredible performances and results.

The decision comes just a week after the org’s group stage exit from IEM Sydney. Cloud9 finished IEM Sydney in the 9-12th place earning $5,000 for their efforts. They lost to Complexity in the Group stage lower bracket semifinal.

Today my time in Cloud9 comes to an end,". "For me as a player, it's like the ending of the whole book. I decided to leave this team, and it was one of the most difficult decisions in my career. Right now I don't want to go into details: what, how and why. "I thought a lot, weighed all pros and cons, and I can't say for sure how correct this decision will be in the future.

Sh1ro’s departure from the Cloud9 CS2 roster also marks the end of a fruitful partnership between Hobbit, Ax1le, and himself. The trio have been together for more than three years ranging from their Gambit days.

The 22-year-old player had a message for his former teammates in his farewell statement.

"electroNic, Perfecto, Ax1Le, HObbit, I was very glad to play with you in this team and I truly hate to admit that we couldn't reach the goals we set for ourselves. Big thanks to Denis [electroNic], thanks to him I started to understand the game differently. We didn't play much together, but I think I managed to learn something new during this short time."
