PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 will happen in February at the BTarena.

PGL has announced more details about its Cluj-Napoca event for 2026. Details include the location, prize pool, and dates. The tournament organizer also revealed more details about two more Tier 1 events that will take place in the upcoming years.

PGL reveals Cluj-Napoca 2026 details

PGL Cluj-Napoca will take place from Feb. 9 to Feb. 23. The tournament will be one of the marquee events for the year and will have 16 teams in attendance. It will take place in the BTarena, a multi-purpose hall with a 10,000-capacity located next to the Cluj Arena and has hosted CS2 events in the past.

PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 will have a $1,250,000 prize pool, and the top teams will be in competition for the same. A new addition to the rulebook in the new PGL blogpost is a punishment for teams that accept the invite but fail to attend.

"If a roster is unable to participate or chooses to decline the Direct VRS Invite, the invite will be extended to the next team in the VRS, following the order of Qualifying Ranks, until all tournament slots are filled."

With this rule, teams can no longer blindside the tournament organizer with last-minute withdrawals from its events. In the recent PGL event, FURIA withdrew from its attendance, and PGL had to bring in replacement Imperial Fe to the tournament. The addition of this new rule will remove a team’s ability to play in more PGL events if they decide to withdraw their previous attendance.

PGL 2027 events

PGL also announced two Tier 1 events for the first half of 2027. The two events will take place on the following dates.

  • PGL CS2 event in February 2027: Feb. 8 to Feb. 22
  • PGL CS2 event in March 2027: March 16 to March 29

The tournament organizer has not revealed the locations for these two events, so CS2 fans can expect more news soon. PGL’s next event is PGL Cluj-Napoca that kicks off on Feb. 14 this month. The tournament has 16 teams competing for a massive prize pool. The winner of the event walks home with $400,000 on Feb. 23. CS2 fans can catch all the action live on Twitch.
