The PGL Bucharest 2025 Open Qualifiers will kick off soon. Here are the details.
PGL has a packed schedule for the 2025 CS2 calendar year. The next event is PGL Bucharest that kicks off in a few weeks. The tournament organizer has revealed more details about the tier 1 tournament that takes place in April.
PGL Bucharest Qualifier details
PGL Bucharest 2025 kicks off on April 6 and will continue for a week ending on April 13, 2025. The tournament has a $1.25 million prize pool and will have some of the biggest teams in attendance.
Open Qualifier 1 – Feb. 14 to 15
Open Qualifier 2 – Feb. 16 to17
Open Qualifier 3 – Feb. 20 to21

PGL Bucharest Closed Qualifier schedule
The top teams from the open qualifiers will move ahead to the Closed Qualifiers. There are two Closed qualifiers. The first round will take place over four days while the second one lasts only two days.
Europe, North America, South America:
- Closed Qualifier Round 1: Feb. 28 to March 3
- Closed Qualifier Round 2: March 7 to 8
Asian Closed Qualifier (MESA Asian Masters):
- Closed Qualifier Round 1: Feb. 24 to 27
- Closed Qualifier Round 2 (LAN - Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia): March 6 to 9
The PGL Bucharest 2025 event will have 16 teams in competition. The tournament has two stages with the Group Stage being a 16-team Swiss System format. All matches are best of three in the Group Stage, and the top eight teams will move ahead to the Playoffs. The Playoffs will have a single-elimination bracket. All matches are best of three except for the Grand Finals. The Grand Finals are a best of five series.
Earlier last month, PGL unveiled its list of tournaments for 2027. As more tournament organizers join the fray, the CS2 esports scene is going to look a lot more vibrant as we look ahead.
