The team’s IGL and AWPer parts ways with the squad. What’s next for the Ukrainian player?

Monte has announced it is parting ways with IGL Volodymyr "Woro2k" Veletniuk. Woro2k was one of the founding members of the current roster. He was also the AWPer as well as the IGL for the team. This move signals a significant departure in the current roster and playstyle for the organization.

Woro2k leaves Monte after two years

Woro2k joined Monte in July 2022 after some time on MAD Lions. He joined the squad as the In-Game Leader as well as the AWPer on the team. With nearly two years on the squad, Monte is now looking at revamping their Counter-Strike roster. Woro2k is one of the fallouts of this effort and he will no longer be a part of the squad.

The team had some success in 2022, however, they failed to capitalize on the initial success. The team’s performance suffered through the next two years, partly due to roster instability. Over the past year, there have been multiple changes to the squad.

The team did have a stellar performance after the addition of sdy. The youngster boosted the roster’s firepower propelling the team to a top-ten placement in the rankings. They had a deep run through the Paris Major. But earlier this year, br0 and sdy parted ways with the squad, leaving them severely underpowered.

It’s still not clear who will replace Woro2k on the Monte roster. However, cryptic tweets by the player as well as the org seem to suggest that they have found a place elsewhere.

Monte’s Counter-Strike roster is as follows:

  • Serghij "DemQQ" Demchenko
  • Szymon "kRaSnaL" Mrozek
  • Martin "STYKO" Styk
  • Ali "hAdji" Haïnouss
  • Serhij "lmbt" Bezhanov
