71 Rounds, 8 OTs, and a mid-map break.
ESL Pro League keeps setting record after record. After Donk's monumental 38-kill game against Wildcard, the event has seen a new record. After 71 rounds of play, M80 defeated Fnatic on Anubis to set a record for the longest CS2 map ever played.
The map showed just how closely the two teams were matched from the get-go. M80 started the first half with a pistol win, and Fnatic answered in the gun rounds. The two then dutifully switched roles in the second half to make it 6-6, 6-6. Once in overtime, it was a matter of inches as the two kept going back and forth. Fnatic took match point, and M80 retaliated. The NA side locked 18, and Fnatic pushed it right into another overtime.
MOUZ and Imperial wrap up an entire series during Map 1
The concurrent game between MOUZ and Imperial on the other stream for ESL Pro League started off after M80 vs Fnatic. But by the time MOUZ's players emerged from their own Best-of-Three series that also featured overtime, the match on Anubis was still ongoing. By that point, the Twitter-sphere was already buzzing with prospects of a new longest CS2 map record being set. In total, the map lasted over 2.5 hours.
The match was also one of the rare few to include a bathroom break in the middle of it. Usually, breaks are reserved for times between maps or longer ones between Map 3 and Map 4 of the Bo5. But to see one at Round 60 of a CS2 map is a rarity. Unfortunately for the two teams, the task wasn't over even after 71 rounds of play, with potentially two more maps left in the series.

With eight overtimes and 71 rounds, the match on Anubis set a new record. That takes the crown away from Zero Tenacity vs Rhyno at Elisa Fall Invitational 2024, which saw the two teams play 64 rounds on Vertigo. In LAN events, the record was held by the match between TYLOO and The Mongolz, which had the Asian squads battle for 54 rounds on Inferno.
M80 finally emerged victorious thanks to star performances from Fritz "Slaxz-" Dietrich and Ethan "Reck" Serrano. Both players racked up 58 kills. Meanwhile, for Fnatic, it was, unexpectedly, the French duo of Alexandre "bodyy" Pianaro and Aurélien "afro" Drapier leading the charge.
