One of the oldest trophies in Counter-Strike is up for grabs this February with IEM Katowice 2025 kicking off Jan. 29. For two weeks teams will battle for a spot in the Spodek Arena. The best six will make it to Feb. 6's stage matches where the coveted Katowice trophy, a 20,000-strong crowd, and a huge prize pool await them.

IEM Katowice 2025 format and teams
IEM Katowice 2025 is a 24-team VRS-ranked event. The teams were all invited based on their ranking and seeding accordingly: the top eight invites await the eight that survive the play-in, while eight more will pack their bags early. Each play-in team gets two lives: land two wins, and they're in the group stage. Lose two, and they're gone.
The top six from the group stage will head to the playoffs, with the top team in each group skipping the quarterfinals. All matches at IEM Katowice 2025 are best-of-three (including the play-in), with the grand final a best-of-five. VRS points and a massive $400,000 USD prize await the champion.
