IEM Dallas Initial Matchups revealed

ESL has unveiled the initial matchups for IEM Dallas that kicks off later this month. With best-of-one matches to kick things off, the matchups become extremely important for the participating teams. Here’s what we know about the IEM Dallas matchups and which teams will be facing off against their arch opponents.

The IEM Dallas 2024 event is a sixteen-team event with a $250,000 prize pool. The tournament kicks off on May 27 and will continue till June 2, 2024. Here are the initial matchups for IEM Dallas 2024.

Earlier today, G2 Esports unveiled Stewie2k as their stand-in for the event. Stewie2k’s LAN return after a gap of nearly two months means he might be a bit rusty. But it will be a welcome sight for Counter-Strike fans who will be eager to watch one of the most popular players back in action. Stewie2k will replace Hooxi who is missing out on this event to attend his sister’s wedding.  With a new player on the roster, it will be interesting to see how far G2 esports can go in this event. 

The matchup between Complexity and Team Liquid will be an interesting one. With Team Liquid reportedly considering parting ways with Cadian, their performance in this tournament will be under careful scrutiny

The tournament has a double-elimination format with each group's opening matches being best-of-one series. All remaining matches are best-of-three. The top three teams advance to the tournament playoffs where the group stage winners advance directly to the semifinals. The winner of this event will qualify directly for IEM Cologne 2024 as well as a substantial amount of $100,000 in prize money.
