How did the series go?

Heroic were the favorites coming into the series partly due to their stability as a roster and the general skill and results on the team. The first map of Vertigo highlighted their individual brilliance over their opponents as Heroic seemed to have the right answers for all of NIP's moves.

With 20 kills to his name, kyxsan was instrumental in Heroic's performance on both halves. Closely following was Sjuush whose aggressive moves were more than enough to ensure that Heroic were able to constantly command a lead throughout the map.

For NIP, they had moments of brilliance, but they never could build momentum off these moments of brilliance. The team faltered repeatedly and ultimately, the gap between the two teams was just too big to close down.

The second map was much closer and it actually went to overtime. The map did see Heroic win, albeit it was a 16-14 victory.

Heroic vs NIP: What can we expect?

The Ninjas have had significant changes to their Counter-Strike roster. Last month, they benched k0nfig, es3tag, and headtr1ck. They also parted ways with djL and haste effectively leaving them fielding a rather incomplete roster.

At BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, the team will be playing with three loaned players. With the short notice and the diverse backgrounds of the players, this tournament is going to be a tall task for the Ninjas.

The HEROIC roster is much stronger than the Ninjas on paper. The core roster has been together for a much longer time and they’ve also had some better results recently. They finished 6-8th in the European RMR barely making it to the Copenhagen Major. Meanwhile, the Ninjas finished towards the bottom end of their RMR performance, thereby being unable to secure the Copenhagen Major slot. This series should be a relatively easy task for HEROIC, however, the unknown nature of the Ninjas roster might throw up a surprise or two.

The BLAST Premier Spring Showdown is the final opportunity for teams to qualify for the Spring Finals. The top two teams in the Spring Showdown will earn their opportunity to participate in the Spring Finals. The tournament features a single-elimination format, making it extremely tough for all participating teams. However, every match is a best of three series ensuring it is not a one game loss tournament for any team in the event.
