G2 qualify for IEM Dallas semis

FaZe Clan and G2 esports faced each other in the quarterfinals of the IEM Dallas 2024. G2 esports ended up with a 2-0 victory over FaZe in the quarters to advance further to the semifinals. The team’s 2-0 victory now sets them on course to face off against 9z who topped Group A.

G2 esports took down FaZe Clan in the quarterfinals of IEM Dallas 2024. The $250,000 offers teams an opportunity to qualify for IEM Cologne 2024. IEM Cologne is one of the biggest events of the year and teams do not want to miss out on the opportunity to attend that event. 

While Dust 2 started with FaZe taking an early lead in the map on their CT side, their T side needed serious reinforcements. The team barely managed to make any dent, rarely reaching the bomb site. They managed to win just one T-side round and that was the key difference between the teams. FaZe’s T-side coordination, or rather lack of it meant they meekly bowed out with a 8-13 score.

Meanwhile, the next map of Nuke was even worse for FaZe. On Dust 2, they had a decent CT side, but on Nuke, they did not even manage more than 2 rounds. The team had mONESY step up on multiple occasions and with 18 kills, him and NiKo were clearly in a very big advantage going into the map. 

With this win, G2 esports now go up against 9Z esports. 9Z have had a relatively good run so far in the group stage. However, with G2 in renewed form, it will be interesting to see how far the teams go in this matchup. Meanwhile, in the other semifinal, Team Spirit will face off against Vitality who survived their match against HEROIC.
