Expectations were high from the Grand Finals of the BLAST Premier World Finals 2024. The best-of-five series saw two teams that have gone through their fair share of efforts to reach the top two. Today, G2 esports emerged as the undisputed victors after a resounding 3-0 victory over Team Spirit.

G2 starts off strong on Mirage

Team Spirit started the series with the pistol round win a a promising follow-up, however, once G2 got weapons in their hands, they broke through the Team Spirit momentum. There was one round that needs to receive special attention with D0nk having a spectacular showing where he got four headshots using the Deagle.

Despite that round G2 set the tone of the series consistent and dominating performance managing to apply pressure on Team Spirit in the Grand Finals. Despite some heroics, the first half was relatively even at 5-7, however, G2 completely dominated on the CT side.

Team Spirit were unable to find a single opening through the second half and lost the map with a 7-13 score. G2 took a one map lead in the Grand Finals series. However, it being a best of five series meant Team Spirit had ample opportunity to get back into the game.

Anubis: Can’t break through the G2 defense

The second map of Anubis was even more one-sided as this time, Team Spirit managed even fewer rounds on their CT side. MalbsMd kicked things off with a bang with four headshots in the first round. The team’s performance followed after that with G2 consistently taking aggressive risks as their confidence grew with each passing round.

NiKo finished the map with 23 frags towering over the rest of the server. The veteran player led the team from the front, showcasing a combination of skill and experience. His +10 KD difference was crucial in completely subduing Team Spirit on Anubis. G2 won Anubis with a 13-5 score, taking a 2-0 lead through the series. The team was now one map win away from winning the BLAST Premier World Finals 2024.

G2 secures World Finals victory on Dust 2

The final map of Dust 2 is always an iconic map to win an event on. Dust 2 saw G2 completely dominant from the beginning. They went 6-0 up in the first few rounds and it was only then that Team Spirit managed to pull back some rounds.

Dust 2 is one of the better maps for Team Spirit and they were a favorite on this map. However, the team’s performance throughout the series was significantly underwhelming and Dust 2 was no exception.

While it was an all-round performance by everyone on the team, Hunter stood out due to the massive lead in the number of frags. MONESY and malbsMd came in next at around 18 frags.

G2 went on to win Dust 2 and the series relatively easily. While the audience was eagerly waiting to compare the performance of both D0nk and mONESY, there was a big difference when it came to big stage performance between the two teams.

The BLAST Premier World Finals in Singapore was the final BLAST Premier event. The event saw a packed audience that eagerly was waiting to meet and watch their favorite Counter-Strike players in action.

G2 was one of the favorites at the event and the crowd was eagerly behind them as well. With this event coming to an end, all eyes in Counter-Strike are now aimed towards the next Major.

The Perfect World Counter-Strike Major will be the first time Counter-Strike Major will take place in China. The Major starts on November 30 and will continue till December 15, 2024.
