“No more good vibes…” – nexa joked on X
After just over 6 months, G2 has decided to bench Nemanja "nexa" Isaković from the active roster. The move follows a dismal season for the squad, with a stand-in fueled IEM Dallas being the only highlight. Considering m0NESY's imperial form, maybe this is the kickstart of a team worthy of the superstar.
nexa - A solid rifler thrown into an illogical G2
From the get-go, this roster move looked like a mistake. Coming in to replace Justin "jks" Savage, nexa had a lot of pressure on his shoulders. With the Aussie, G2 had won both IEM Cologne and IEM Katowice. The latter even had jks making a deserving case for the MVP award. That was who jks was. A low-resource player who could just win you games singlehandedly.
By contrast, G2 never put nexa in those roles. But if anything, his G2 needed that X-factor more than ever. Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač has never been a star in CS2. And early on, even NiKo was struggling to find form. nexa performed quite well for his role throughout his time, but the team simply wasn't a winning formula. Now, nexa finds himself on the G2 bench through no fault of his own.
No more good vibes… jokes aside on the bench as of today in @G2esports. Thank you for the last 6 months, it was a pleasure to be here again. With that being said I'm still eager and ready to play the next season and open to offers in any role.
G2 needs a bigger shakeup
This roster and its core construction simply do not work. m0NESY is currently the best player in the world, and NiKo is his trusty righthand rifler. Outside of that, what does G2 really have? huNter- is a bang-average rifler taking up major roles, while Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen's calling has been brought into doubt after NiKo's trophy lift as IGL at Dallas.
If this is a simple move where G2 moves nexa to the bench and gets another rifler, then it will be another failure. Even if that is the rumored Mario "malbsMd" Samayoa. A third star will be important. But the support system around m0NESY needs to seriously step up.

Lucas "Bubzkji" Andersen was quite harsh on the roster move, describing it as "one of the worst rotations in my books". But with nexa's solid skills, ability to call, and lack of any real negativity around him, he's sure to find a new home sooner rather than later.
