As expected, Falcons must iron out many aspects of their game throughout the CS2 season.

Falcons have secured a 2-0 victory against ENCE at the BLAST Bounty Season 1 CS2 tournament on January 15.

This was the debut of the new Falcons lineup in CS2, which features the former G2 star Nikola "NiKo" Kovač and the former HEROIC players Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski, Abdulkhalik "degster" Gasanov, and René "TeSeS" Madsen.

Although Falcons advanced to the next round of BLAST Bounty Season 1 and held their $30,000 bounty without dropping a map, their exhibition was far from convincing.

  • Falcons 16-12 ENCE (Train)
  • Falcons 16-14 ENCE (Dust 2)

To the surprise of many, TeSeS was Falcons' top-fragger today, not NiKo. The latter is by far the most accomplished player besides the veteran Emil "Magisk" Reif, but TeSeS brought his A-game today and outshined all his teammates on Train.

TeSeS dropped 33 kills on Train, the first map of the series, and paved the way for Falcons' in overtime.

The series moved on to Dust 2 and Falcons were scrappy again. ENCE had the chance to win the map thanks to good plays on their T-side, but NiKo came alive in the final moments of regulation and started getting multikills round after round.

If it wasn't for NiKo, Falcons would have lost on Dust 2 during regulation, but instead, they secured back-to-back overtime victories thanks to TeSeS pushing them over the line with multikills of his own.

This hard-fought victory against ENCE doesn't spell much confidence for the rest of the competition as ENCE are essentially a tier-two team nowadays. Should Falcons play in the same way in the coming matches, they'll likely struggle against higher-rank CS2 opponents.

Falcons will need to win one more match to book a spot in the BLAST Bounty Season 1 CS2 Finals, which will be played on LAN rather than the online setup used in this stage.

That's all for now. Stay tuned to esports.gg for more CS2 news.
