Degster to miss out initial IEM Cologne matches
Abdulkhalik "degster" Gasanov will miss out on the first few matches at IEM Cologne due to visa issues. As first reported by HLTV, the youngster will miss out on a few matches due to visa issues. What is currently not known is how many matches he will miss as there is no timeline on the acquisition of the required visa even now.
Degster signed with HEROIC in May this year and has had trouble getting visas for tournaments. IEM Cologne will be the third event he will not be able to attend from the very beginning. Earlier this year, he had also to miss out on some events such as IEM Dallas, and BLAST Premier Groups. Nicodoz replaced him at IEM Dallas while sAw stood in for the team at BLAST.
IEM Cologne kicks off on August 7 and will continue for nearly 12 days to come to an end on the 18th. The tournament has a million dollar prize pool, but for most of the teams or participants, it is the prestige of winning IEM Cologne that holds more importance. IEM Cologne, along with Katowice has been a staple of the Counter-Strike scene for a very long time.
Heroic’s first match at IEM Cologne will be against MIBR in the Play-In match. If they make it to the top eight, they will advance to the Group Stage, where they will have to face off against much tougher opponents. IEM Cologne matches will broadcast live on Twitch and you can catch all the action live here.
