CS2 roster shuffle season is upon us, and teams are getting started early.

The 2024 CS2 season is coming to a close. Following the Shanghai Major, teams will have a month or two to rest up and prepare for the new year. However, a few top squads won't be returning in 2025 with the same personnel, with many teams opting for a roster shuffle.

Here's a look at every major CS2 roster shuffle post-2024 season. A few squads started early following their eliminations from the Shanghai Major!

All CS2 roster shuffles heading into the 2025 season

We've sorted the big CS2 roster shuffles chronologically, with the most recent moves at the top of this list. Be sure to check back regularly for the latest!

January

Jan. 15: NiP reveals a new roster with arrowzdoce, ewjerkz, sjuush, and Snappi joining r1nkle. MisteM has been benched, while French player JACKZ will join as a stand-in.

Jan. 14: The offseason comes to a close with BLAST Bounty kicking off the season.

Jan. 13: Brehze is benched from NRG with former Astralis player br0 signing with the North American squad.

Jan. 12: PARIVISION acquires former VP IGL and AWPer Jame, forms new squd with TRAVIS and nota; ArtFr0st benched.
Jan. 12: Party Astronauts picks up Walco, Axed (coach).

Jan. 11: HeavyGod makes move from Cloud9 to G2, replacing NiKo.

Jan. 10: FaZe's worst kept secret is out as EliGE is announced as the new fifth, replacing the outgoing ropz.
Jan. 10: HEROIC recommits to CS2, picking up the ex-Sangal core of xfl0ud, LNZ, and yxngstxr. Joining them is SunPayus from Falcons and Belarusian player tN1R.
Jan. 10: The second-worst kept secret is out too, with ropz announcing his move to Vitality for Spinx.
Jan. 10: Metizport acquire isak from NiP, reveal new lineup featuring hampus, Plopski, adamb, and L00m1.

Jan. 9: Spinx steps down from Vitality.
Jan. 9: REZ departs NiP after a record stint stretching over seven years. The 26-year-old replaces volt at GamerLegion.
Jan. 9: Complexity have announced a classic rebranding, and in doing so, reveal czxi and nicx as replacements for EliGE and floppy.
Jan. 9: Ax1Le and Boombl4 depart Cloud9 for BetBoom. This leaves C9 down to two players (HeavyGod and interz).

Jan. 8: Spanish organization KOI exits CS2; all players released.
Jan. 8: Volt is benched from GamerLegion, swaps in Czech player PR.
Jan. 8: Benched Falcons sniper SunPayus officially departs the org pending a supposed move to HEROIC.
Jan. 8: Fnatic release nawwk following a loan stint at BLEED.
Jan. 8: The last remaining member of HEROIC, sjuush, is released.

Jan. 6: Liquid complete 2025 roster with NertZ signing, replacing the outgoing YEKINDAR.
Jan. 6: Kvem joins Passion UA from the IKLA bench.
Jan. 6: Veteran Czech sniper oskar has departed SINNERS. The organization said he wasn't done with CS just yet with the 33-year-old set to join a rival team this week.

Jan. 5: AMKAL has benched its roster but isn't leaving Counter-Strike just yet, teasing an upcoming announcement for its 2025 team.

Jan. 4: Falcons have officially signed the HEROIC trio TeSeS, kyxsan, and degster, joining NiKo and Magisk.

Jan. 3: Falcons officially unveil NiKo. Snappi is released from the team ahead of rumors suggesting a move to NiP.
Jan. 3: Zyphon departs TSM and is bound for Sashi, replacing MistR.
Jan. 3: American squad Nouns resets for 2025, acquiring Cryptic, Infinite, and Peeping. They join junior, RUSH, and adreN (coach).

Jan. 2: Turkish prodigy jottAAA has been given the call, moving up from Eternal Fire Academy and Sangal into the main squad at the expense of Calyx.
Jan. 2: Roster moves begin at Passion UA with fear and s-chilla departing. The core of the roster was re-signed earlier this year through to 2027.
Jan. 2: Monte parts ways with kRaSANaL.
Jan. 2: Floppy's time with Complexity officially over with the organization terminating his contract. He was originally benched in mid-December.
Jan. 2: Gaimin Gladiators has released its roster, consisting of kraghen, Queenix, Nodios, roeJ, salazar, and Patti. Gaimin hasn't explicitly left the esport altogether: "While this chapter closes, we look forward to building something even stronger as we continue to compete in CS2."
Jan. 2: Roster moves continue at Fnatic with bodyy released.

Jan. 1, 2025: FaZe officially releases ropz.

December

Dec. 30: Australian squad FlyQuest has gone global, picking up Romanian sniper regali (formerly with OG and Entropiq).

Dec. 29: Virtus.pro completes its 2025 roster, signing AWPer ICY from Cloud9 and rifler FL4MUS from GamerLegion.
Dec. 29: A report from neL and HLTV states the HEROIC core of kyxsan, TeSeS, and degster will be signed by Falcons. At the time the report was published, the organizations were "locked in discussions."

Dec. 28: Rumors suggest HEROIC's NertZ will become Liquid's official fifth, replacing the outgoing YEKINDAR.
Dec. 28: VP benches n0rb3r7, leaving a core three of electronic, fame, and FL1T.
Dec. 28: Liquid has benched YEKINDAR. The Latvian entry rifler, who fell into a slump throughout his tenure with Liquid, is now open to offers.

Dec. 27: Former G2 in-game leader HooXi announces he is ready to return to Counter-Strike. His contract with his old team officially ends on January 1.

Dec. 27: Following his reveal as HLTV's #19 for 2024, EliGE all but confirmed he would depart Complexity and head to Europe. "I'm going to have to manage being in a new situation potentially, but that is part of the game and I feel like now is the time to do it," he said.

"I have had a long career, but I have never played on an EU team with the best players in the world, so it is also something really exciting for me to be able to experience and learn from," he added. "There will be some discomfort being in a new environment, but also a lot of excitement from the potential."

Dec. 26: Starry shifts from TYLOO to Lynn Vision following the expiration of his contract.
Dec. 26: Legacy farewells NEKIZ.

Dec. 23: In a shock move, Vitality is set to acquire ropz from FaZe Clan according to HLTV and neL sources. This ends ropz's nearly four-year stint at FaZe.
Dec. 23: KaiR0N- officially departs BetBoom (bench), forms P0RTUGAL with NickelBack, X5G7V, synyx, danistzz.

Dec. 21: BIG have benched rigoN, while rumors suggest syrsoN will also be moved on from the German organization.

Dec. 20: Monte's KEi and nawrot (coach) are moved to the bench.

Dec. 18: FlyQuest have benched Australian AWPer aliStair. According to HLTV sources, the squad is eager to search overseas prospects rather than committing to a five-man team from Oceania.

Dec. 17: G2 AWPer m0NESY will reportedly stay as the team's centerpiece for the foreseeable future according to HLTV and insider neL.

Dec. 14: TSM part ways with Valde, niko, and Rejin (coach) and bench sirah, acoR, and Zyphon.

Dec. 12: Fnatic release coach keita after three years.

Dec. 11: Complexity farewells floppy and assistant coach JamezIRL. Floppy moved into the anchor role for the team in early 2022, coming just short of three years with the organization.

Dec. 10: Virtus.pro bench captain and AWPer Jame after five years at the organization.

Dec. 9: Maxster departs Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Dec. 9: Astralis release br0, declare device fit and ready for the 2025 season.

Dec. 5: Lack1 is released from Aurora. Former Virtus.pro coach XomA takes over head coaching role after three months as assistant to brain.

Dec. 4: Ewjerkz is released from SAW, with the Portuguese squad acquiring shr as his replacement.

Dec. 1: Misutaaa, s0und moved to the inactive list at 9INE.

November

Nov. 30: The Perfect World Shanghai Major began.

Nov. 28: Deko departs Aurora; announces a break from competitive play.

Nov. 27: 9Pandas bench glowiing and iDISBALANCE.

Nov. 26: KaiR0N- and nafany are removed from BetBoom after the squad failed to qualify for the Shanghai Major.

Nov. 21: Falcons drop Snappi, maden, and dupreeh as they prepare for the arrival of NiKo from G2 after the Shanghai Major. AWPer s1mple's loan ends, with Falcons opting not to sign the Ukrainian superstar.

Nov. 11: The Shanghai Major RMR qualifiers begin.
