The Brazilian rifler said 9 Pandas made FalleN show his prime mode today.
Marcelo "chelo" Cespedes and the rest of FURIA won the spicy rematch against 9 Pandas by 2-0 at BetBoom Dacha CS2 2024. While the Russians are officially out of the tournament, FURIA made it to the playoffs.
The rematch between 9 Pandas and FURIA gained quite an attention as the 9 Pandas IGL had told HLTV that beating the Brazilians on Aug. 25 was "not a big win" for them. Afterward, FURIA's own IGL Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo said in an interview with esports.gg that 9 Pandas are "not that good" and was looking forward to play them again.
Esports.gg caught up with chelo after FURIA defeated 9 Pandas and Eternal Fire to win BetBoom Dacha's Group B in the play-in stage, and the Brazilian rifler didn't hold back.
"Of course it gave us [extra motivation]. Particularly, FalleN and I got [angry] after seeing what they said, and we could revert this anger into energy for the whole team. What shalfey said was very beneficial for us — now thank you and go home."
And that wasn't all. Stay with us and read the rest of the interview below.

Esports.gg: So, I'm guessing that he facilitated your pre-game team huddle?
chelo: "Our pre-game team huddle was all about our anger towards them. There was no other way."
FalleN played exceptionally well in the series as he got a lot of kills and was going for all sorts of aggressive plays. Did you feel that he had some sort of X-factor?
"I believe that today, we had prime FalleN due to all the anger and energy he brought us. When FalleN says he's going for his 'shotgun AWP,' which means rush with the AWP, everybody knows that he's in the prime FalleN mode. So we just follow him and support him on what he needs. When he enters this mode, he doesn't even throw flashbangs. We do all the support and let him play loose."
How's the confidence for the rest of the tournament after defeating 9 Pandas and Eternal Fire?
"I think that after these maps, which everyone played super well, our confidence can only go upwards. Even though we feel that practice has been good, you can only gain confidence in tournaments. And when you're gaining confidence, it never stops."
Last question — do you have anything to say for who is downplaying Brazilian CS?
"Be careful because we are coming back, okay? Watch out because we'll get the top-1 rank in the world."
