It’s been a rough ride for Nexa.

BLEED have announced they will bench Nemanja "nexa" Isaković after just a few months of singing the player to their Counter-Strike roster. Nexa joined BLEED from G2 esports to fill in the anchor role, however, things didn’t pan out as the team would’ve expected.

Nexa benched on BLEED esports

Nexa parted ways with G2 Esports soon after the BLAST Premier Spring Finals. As G2 looked to make a small change to their roster, Nexa found a new home in BLEED esports. He replaced Josef ‘faveN’ Baumann in the anchor position. As the anchor, Nexa brought with him vast experience of playing at the highest level.

The team’s Head Coach, Aleksandar ‘kassad’ Trifunovic believed the player would bounce back to form and his performance on G2 esports did not reflect his true abilities. In a way, he had the right words, since Nexa started off much better on G2 esports but tapered off towards the end. A player’s performance depends on multiple factors including the team’s playstyle, the players’ individual forms, and more.

However, BLEED failed to impress with its new Counter-Strike roster. The team finished 9-16th in most of the events it attended. It finished 9-11th in the Shanghai Major European Qualifier A and had a similar result during the IEM Rio Open Qualifier #1.

Different Visions on the Team

The player told HLTV, he was not a good fit for the team and said there are different visions and approaches to the game.

There were a lot of different visions and approaches to the game before me joining, and I think my voice there added to the confusion.

He also mentioned he is eager to play and compete both as a rifler and as an in-game leader.

BLEED’s current Counter-Strike roster is as follows:

  • Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad
  • Tim "nawwk" Jonasson
  •  Cai "CYPHER" Watson
  •  Vladan "VLDN" Radević
  • Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović (coach)
  • Nemanja "nexa" Isaković (bench)

BLEED Esports will play next at the RES Regional Championship 2024. The tournament is a four-day LAN event in Belgrade with $250,000.
