What’s next in this clash of TOs? BLAST Bounty 2027 clashes with PGL’s event
Hours after PGL’s announcement, BLAST also unveiled its very own tournament for January 2027. The dates for the BLAST event are almost the same dates as that of PGLs. Teams will have to choose from either of the tournament operators in 2027.

BLAST Open 2027 overlaps with PGL event
Esports tournament organizer, BLAST, has unveiled another Counter-Strike tournament for 2027. It will be one of the first events of the year and the dates have much overlap with another event that was announced a few hours earlier. BLAST Bounty 2027 will run from Jan. 13-24, 2027.
Earlier, PGL also unveiled the dates for the first Counter-Strike event of 2027. The PGL Counter-Strike events also start on the same date from Jan. 13. The PGL event will come to an end one day later on Jan. 25, 2027. PGL has also announced several other events including at Astana, Bucharest, and more throughout the year.
This marks a significant shift from this year where tournament organizers have largely cooperated with each other to ensure no schedule clashes. Of course, the number of organizers in the Counter-Strike space was also very limited. Only BLAST, PGL, and ESL have a sizeable circuit this year and for several years. Perfect World hosted the Shanghai Major, but they have been largely absent from the international LAN scene.
With some other tournament organizers such as StarLadder and PGL also coming in with multiple events throughout the year, the space is getting a lot more crowded. Tournament organizers were unable to come to an understanding and this has seen one of the first big tier-one event clashes starting in 2027. With more events yet to be announced, Counter-Strike fans can expect more such schedule clashes but with more events, it promises to be an even more exciting time for fans.
