The Skyesports Champs 2024, one of the highlights of the Indian CS calendar scene, is off to a very bad start. After most of the Day 1 matches being postponed due to multiple cascading problems, one of the participating teams has withdrawn from the event. BetBoom will no longer be a part of Skyesports Champs 2024 in Mumbai citing ‘unmet promised conditions’.

BetBoom withdraws from Skyesports Champs 2024

The Skyesports Champs 2024 is an Indian Counter-Strike event taking place in Mumbai. The tournament featured some big International Counter-Strike teams as invites and promised to rejuvenate the Counter-Strike esports scene in India. However, after a disastrous Day 1, the tournament seems to be in damage control mode. With one of the most popular teams withdrawing from the tournament due to ‘unmet promised conditions’, the Skyesports Champs is off to a bad start.

From infrastructure issues to internet problems and also controversial admin decisions, the Skyesports Championship 2024 has been off to a disastrous start. The tournament still has a few days remaining and it will be interesting to see how the TO manages to salvage the situation.

BetBoom announced on social media they will be withdrawing from the event.

Due to unmet promised conditions and unsuccessful attempts to resolve issues with the organizers, BetBoom Team have decided to withdraw from the Skyesports Championship. 

The first day of delays led to several delayed and eventually, postponed matches at the Skyesports Champs 2024. 

We believe that fair competition requires a level playing field for all teams, which is currently not the case. 

Skyesports has not yet released any statement regarding BetBoom’s announcement. With this announcement, there are only 11 teams remaining at the event. The Skyesports Championship 2024 is a $300,000 tournament that takes place over six days. With some big teams in participation, there were high expectations from the event. But the delays on Day 1 resulted in a significant loss of face for the tournament organizer.
