ALTERNATE aTTaX puts Counter-Strike on hold

ALTERNATE aTTaX has been an organization infamous for scouting local German talent and giving them visibility. The org has boasted some big names who have gone on to make a name for themselves in the Counter-Strike scene.

Founded in 2003 ALTERNATE aTTaX entered Counter-Strike in 2012 along with the release of Global Offensive. The team recently qualified till IEM Cologne Play-In where they lost to Complexity and Team Falcons.

"Our decision may seem like a step backwards at first, but it opens up the opportunity for us to break new ground and redefine our commitment to Counter-Strike," says Lennart Kreuter, project manager of ALTERNATE aTTaX.

ALTERNATE aTTaX has a Counter-Strike team and an EVO division. They plan on sustainably building their EVO roster and professionalizing it to form a competitive team again. They will continue to support their current Counter-Strike roster till then.

The players have also been given permission to look for orgs elsewhere in the meantime. The move is a part of a strategic realignment with the current economic scenario as well as the sweeping changes in the Counter-Strike esports scene being key factors.

ALTERNATE aTTaX’s current Counter-Strike roster is as follows:

  • Michalis "awzek" Napoloni
  • Lukas "FreeZe" Hegman
  • Paul "PerX" von Erdmannsdorff
  • Luc "ArroW" Oehmke
  • Marcel "hyped" Köhn

The players will receive an official farewell sometime in the future. The team is currently playing in the Hellcup #2 and also the DACH CS Masters 2 where they have a 7-0 record.
