9Pandas qualify for the Copenhagen Major

The PGL Copenhagen Major is the first Counter-Strike 2 Major. The tournament has an extensive RMR process which serves as qualifiers for the tournament. After two sets of RMR events, aptly named, RMR A and RMR B, there was an EU RMR decider to decide which team would receive the final invite.

Six teams took part in the EU RMR decider - three from each of the original RMR events. Stage 1 saw the teams play in a single-elimination bracket. The winning teams advanced to Stage 2.

In Stage 1, GamerLegion, Guild Eagles and 9Pandas advanced to the next stage. 9Pandas had a particularly impressive performance after a 2-0 victory over Astralis. The Danish roster, one infamous for controlling the Counter-Strike esports would not qualify for the Copenhagen Major, in what came as a massive shock to the community.

In Stage 2, 9Pandas advanced directly to Round 2 thanks to their superior Bucholz score. The match against GamerLegion saw both teams going to overtime on Overpasss. GamerLegion won the map with a 16-14 score.

However, 9Panads had a very impressive first half on both Ancient and Nuke, limiting GamerLegion to 8 and 11 rounds on the two maps. Glowiing was the best player on the server, with 85 kills across the three maps. The young player had a +37 KDA highlighting his contribution throughout the series.

With this victory, 9Pandas have secured the final EU slot for the Copenhagen Major. The Counter-Strike 2 Copenhagen Major will take place from March 17 to 31st with 24 teams. The tournament has a $1.25 million prize pool and will be the first-ever Counter-Strike 2 Major.
