Black Myth Wukong is an adventure game that takes you into a fantasy realm, one that will captivate multiple senses. From clear audio-visual cues to some engaging fight scenes, there is a lot that the game has going for it. With thousands of fans eagerly waiting for the game’s release, it is easily one of the most anticipated games of the year. But before you dive deeper, it is important to know whether you have the system that can run the game. Black Myth Wukong is available only on a handful of games and here’s more of what you need to know.

Black Myth Wukong is already available for pre-order and is available on only two platforms - PC and PlayStation 5. The game, first revealed in 2020 has quickly developed a loyal fanbase. Players are eager to explore the mysterious worlds and the game is one of the most wish-listed games on Steam. The game saw a new cinematic trailer release during Summer Games Fest 2024 which also revealed that the game is available for pre-orders.

Unfortunately, Black Myth Wukong will not be available on Xbox. Consequently, it will also not be available on the Xbox Game Pass. Players will have to play the game on PC or if they have one, the PlayStation 5. 

So the big question is whether the game will be available on Xbox in the future. According to the developers’ FAQ, they are optimizing the Xbox Series X|S to meet their quality standards. 

"We are currently optimizing the Xbox Series X|S version to meet our quality standards," Game Science said, "so it won't release simultaneously with the other platforms. We apologize for the delay and aim to minimize the wait for Xbox users. We will announce the release date as soon as it meets our quality standards."

The game will come on Xbox after the developers are able to optimize it to meet their quality standards. 

In a statement, Microsoft said they are working with Game Science to bring Black Myth Wukong to Xbox console. However, there has been no time commitment or deadline for the same.

"We’re excited for the launch of Black Myth Wukong on Xbox Series X|S and are working with Game Science to bring the game to our platforms. We can't comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders, but we remain focused on making Xbox the best platform for gamers, and great games are at the center of that."

Black Myth Wukong releases on August 20 and is available on PC and PlayStation 5. The game is currently available for pre-orders and sells for around $59.99 on Steam and Epic Games.
