Online sweepstakes casinos are taking a hit, as Tennessee becomes the 10th state in 2026 to pursue shutting the websites down.

While online sweepstakes casinos have been taking over the internet (basically just online casinos with slots and more that people can bet on), it would seem as if some states are fighting against them. Tennessee lawmakers are pushing a Bill, which was recently introduced, in an attempt to shut down online sweepstakes casinos.

Here is a look at the Bill.

Tennessee lawmakers pushing to get rid of all online casinos

Betting already is not legal in Tennessee, aside from horse racing and the lottery. However, many online websites have found loopholes to run their own operations. These including sports books and online sweepstakes casinos, which allow people to play slots and more but using virtual money and not real cash.

For a while now, the state has been shutting down betting sites, really capitalizing on different online sweepstakes casinos. However, many still find ways to thrive within the state. Well, this new Bill will officially outlaw online sweepstakes casinos and give the State Attorney General more authority to shut down sites using promotional sweepstakes models.

Online sweepstakes casinos have been on the internet for a while, and they are an easy way for people to gamble without REALLY gambling (except they are). This Bill would help shut down many of these casinos in Tennessee.

Tennessee becomes 10th state In 2026 to pursue banning of online sweepstakes casinos
