Assassin’s Creed Shadows suffers yet another setback and is delayed to March 2025.
Although it has faced major backlash throughout the gaming community, Ubisoft’s next game in the Assassin’s Creed series, Shadows, has still been on the minds of people around the world. Being the fourteenth major title in the series, Shadows would take the game into 16th-century Japan and focus mainly on the perspective of two central protagonists. Yasuke, an African samurai, and Naoe, a female shinobi, take center stage, but not for some time.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows delayed again
After the premiere trailer for Shadows was revealed in May of 2024, the title was set for a release on Nov. 15 of the same year. However, just two months prior in September, Ubisoft revealed that they would be delaying the Assassin's Creed Shadows – although it was technically complete. This delay pushed the game to Feb. 14 this year, and even removed their proposed season pass, refunded pre-orders, and confirmed that future pre-orders would receive the first expansion free.
However, with the new launch date a little over a month away, Ubisoft has now released a new statement, pushing Assassin's Creed Shadows release further back to March 20, 2025. This further delay, according to the statement above, seeks to implement community feedback received over the weeks and bring the game out in a polished state.
Unfortunately for Ubisoft, considering the backlash already faced for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, this further adds salt to the wounds of those awaiting the game. With that said, if the game has no further delays and releases on the newly-introduced date, players will be expecting a near-perfect day-one experience. For the sake of Ubisoft and the Assassin’s Creed series, we are all hoping they come out on top – but that remains to be seen.
