Two for the price of one.

Apex Legends is getting akimbo weapons in Season 22. This will initially only apply to two of the least used weapons in the game. Here's everything you need to know about akimbo weapons in Apex Legends Season 22.

Apex Season 22 details:

What weapons can be akimbo in Apex Legends?

This season, only the P2020 and Mozambique will be able to be akimbo in Apex Legends. Respawn haven't ruled out bringing this feature to other weapons down the line. This could be weapons like the RE45, or perhaps even new weapons designed with this new feature in mind.

How will akimbo weapons work in Apex Legends?

To hold either the P2020 or Mozambique akimbo you'll need to find two of the weapon you want to hold. However, you won't need to find two of every attachment. Attachments will mirror from one weapon to the other, meaning both weapons will have the same magazine, laser sight etc.

While using Akimbo, both weapons are automatic, have increased fire rate and are hip-fire only. This will make the Mozambique only the second automatic Shotgun in Apex.

There was no word on the future of the Hammerpoint hop-up in Apex Legends Season 22. However, it appears that Hammerpoints will remain in the game next season. This means that both of these weapons could be insanely powerful.

In addition, it is not clear if these Apex weapons will deal reduced damage when in akimbo mode. With buffed fire rate, two weapons at once and the upgrade to automatic, it would make sense for these weapons to get a slight damage reduction. Otherwise, they might well be some of the best weapons in the entire game this season.

Developers have been desperate to add akimbo weapons to Apex Legends for some time. This seems like a great way to breathe life into some of the less popular choices. Apex Legends Season 22 releases August 6.
