Team Nemesis are heading to the ALGS Open in top form.

Team Nemesis took an important Pro League win in the last set of EMEA matches ahead of the ALGS Open. The all British team are one of the dark horses in the region, and are quickly establishing themselves as one of the LAN contenders.

This was also the first day of EMEA Pro League not to feature either Storm Point or Worlds Edge for the first time in several years, with only Broken Moon and E-District played today.

Here's what went down.

Team Nemesis establish themselves as LAN contenders

Team Nemesis are quickly establishing themselves as a team to watch in the EMEA region. Zuni, Noiises and RemixPowers are quietly going under the radar and showing they can adapt to all of the changes introduced in ALGS Year 5.

This marks a fast return to form for Noiises, who is back on Mouse and Keyboard and back competing in the ALGS Pro League. ALGS fans might remember him best from his time spent on Invictus Gaming and JLINGZ Esports, with the 25-year-old racking up multiple LAN performances.

Coming back to competition is always a big call, but he has found himself two excellent teammates both looking to further establish themselves in the game. RemixPowers was one of Noctem Esports, who were an ALGS Year 4 surprise package and Zuni also impressed with Team ATLAS last year.

They performed well across both maps, but seemed to be particularly strong on Broken Moon. Zuni, the teams IGL, has been consistently on the ranked grind over the last year and this additional Broken Moon knowledge seemed to pay off. Team Nemesis positioned themselves well across the three Broken Moon games, making the final four across all three games.

They were also able to rack up kills. Not pushing double digits, but managing to pick up a healthy amount of kills in every single game. This was the key factor that helped them secure a strong 11 point lead over second placed 10k Club.

Both RemixPowers and Zuni featured in the top three of the overall kill leaderboard for the day. RemixPowers fragging exploits was even more impressive given the Legends that he was playing today, often on a legend considered more defensive.

Team Nemesis have comfortable lead at end of ALGS Day 3.

  • Team Nemesis - 68
  • 10k - 57
  • Forbidden - 55
  • WEH - 52
  • SJP2 - 52

No Storm Point, no Worlds Edge - a whole new ALGS

Todays EMEA ALGS Pro League was a watershed moment for the ALGS, as we saw an entire days gameplay without either Worlds Edge or Storm Point for the first time in several years.

Worlds Edge has been totally dropped from the Pro League for Split 1, with Broken Moon, Storm Point and E-District being rotated between.

Todays B vs C match-up was the first this split to not have Storm Point at all. What is evident is how different teams approaches are between maps in terms of Legend selection. Ash has been a very early ban in the Pro League so far. However, with E-District, lots of teams opted for Alter.

She makes rotation around the map a lot easier, with the map being divided by so many walls. While Ash seems a bit more suited for the open spaces on Storm Point.

For the ALGS, this is a very exciting moment. The monotony of Worlds Edge and Storm Point is over, with more maps in play and gameplay as varied as ever.
