Shopify Rebellion nudged out NRG to grab a big ALGS Pro League win.

Shopify Rebellion saw off NRG to grab a narrow ALGS Pro League win ahead of the ALGS Open. Koyful, Xynew and Emtee looked to be in fine form, showing their versatility with strong performances on both E-District and Broken Moon.

This was the last ALGS Pro League day before the ALGS Open, which will be our first chance to see several of the ALGS Year 5 changes on LAN for the first time. With that competition now less than two weeks away, Shopify Rebellion will be hoping to carry momentum into that event.

Shopify Rebellion and NRG neck and neck before final game

Heading into the days final game, it was a clear two horse race between NRG and Shopify Rebellion. Both teams were amongst the favourites heading into Year 5, and both looked great across the days games. They set up an incredibly tense game six, with no room for error for either team.

The zone favoured Shopify Rebellion, who were able to get nicely settled in a good central position, while NRG had to traverse Broken Moon and work their way in.

This slow rotation cost NRG, who were caught out by NiceGuys on their way into zone. This all but handed the win to Shopify Rebellion, who were left with the small order of getting two points.

Today was still a strong showing by NRG, who dropped a really impressive 20 kill win in game three. Most impressive was their positioning, with Gild using Alter to essentially end the game shooting fish in a barrel allowing them to rack up a huge amount of kills.

ALGS Pro League Day 3 top five:

  • Shopify Rebellion - 76
  • NRG - 62
  • Virtus.pro - 49
  • 9Lies Esports - 46
  • Fusion - 45

Huge Koyful clutch shows power of Shopify Rebellion roster

This Shopify Rebellion ALGS roster are absolutely lethal in close range team fights. Even with the win secured, they were still at their very best. Koyful produced one of the best indivdual moments of the ALGS Pro League so far, repelling a Fusion third-party single handedly with his Akimbo P2020's.

This helped them end up top of the standings by a comfortable margin, opening up a big gap over NRG after their early exit.

Koyful was the deserved ALGS kill leader today, and this team seems to be enjoying the ALGS Legend Ban system. Legends like Ballistic would not have featured in ALGS Year 4, but his aggressive kit suits teams like Shopify Rebellion perfectly.
