If you want to play Apex Legends on Mac you’ll need to do a few extra steps. Here is how you can play Apex Legends on Mac.
Apex Legends has become one of the most popular multiplayer games of 2023 thanks to new content and the thriving esports scene. It's currently playable on a variety of platforms, including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and even Nintendo Switch. But can Apex Legends run on Mac?
Unfortunately for Mac players, the answer is usually no.
There is no version of Apex Legends created to run on Mac but you can still find ways to play the battle royale on Mac if that's your preferred method. To do so, you need to make sure that your Mac is up-to-date and has the latest version of Boot Camp Assistant. You also need at least 64GB of free storage space.
How to play Apex Legends on Mac
If you want to run Apex Legends on Mac, you, unfortunately, can't simply download the game. You'll need to follow a few extra steps. Here is what you can do:
- Change your Secure Boot settings: To change your Secure Boot setting to Full Security, press and hold Command R. Then go to Utilities followed by Startup Security Utility. From here, you can change to Full Security.
- Launch Boot Camp assistant: This can be opened in Applications under the Utilities folder. Insert the bootable pen drive when you're prompted.
- Set the size of the partition: When opened, Boot Camp Assistant will ask you to set the size of the Windows partition. Make sure that you have at least 64GB.
- Format the partition: Once you have the right amount of free space, press Install in Boot Camp Assistant and format the whole partition. Your Mac will reboot into Windows OS when the installation is done.
- Download Steam: Download and install Steam from here. Once it's downloaded, log in to your existing Steam account. You may need to create a new one if you don't already have a Steam account.
