Get ready for a brand new look at E-District in Apex Season 26.

Apex Season 26 is bringing some changes to E-District, in the first adjustment to the map since its release. This is primarily designed to improve readability, awareness and visibility around the map, especially for more casual players.

E-District is the latest map and has been overall a major hit with the Apex player base. The map plays out very differently to the other maps in the game thanks to its verticality and high density layout. In particular the map has been popular with the competitive community, which saw the map added to the official ALGS rotation.

Now, Season 26 will adjust E-District. However, Respawn were also keen to emphasise that the map will get some bigger changes in the future.

E-District goes daytime in Apex Season 26

When dropping into E-District next season, the most noticeable change will be visual. The map is getting a total lighting overhaul moving from nightime to daytime. This makes the map feel totally different. Who knew that E-District was so beautiful?

Here are some comparisons of how parts of E-District looked in night time last season, and daytime this season.

In addition, there is a brand new skybox. Titanfall OG's might even recognise it, with the skybox now featuring Angel City

Other Apex Season 26 E-District changes

The adjustments don't just stop at lighting. There are also a few quality of life tweaks, all focused around improving map flow and helping players navigate smoothly.

Shopfronts now have more doorways, connecting them all together. This helps you move through buildings rather than having to exit and enter each one separate. That also makes the ability to hold down bigger spaces if the end-game is in this area, great for Wattson and Caustic teams.

There is a brand new rotate in and out of Lotus, which should help flow around that POI. There are also a few less buildings in certain spots around the map, once again designed to help visibility and awareness for players around the map.

Other map tweaks on the way

Respawn said that these changes were part of something bigger, with improvements coming across other maps. These improvements will focus on "clear reads" and "stronger gameplay legibility" reducing things like visual clutter. You'll see some noticeable changes on Kings Canyon and Storm Point this season too. Other maps are getting tweaks over the next few seasons.
