Apex Legends Season 16 Leaks: Ballistic new Legend, class overhaul, and more

Data miners have leaked Ballistic, an upcoming legend in Apex Legends along with a major rework of character classes with a perk system.

2022 is coming to a close and Apex Legends is in need of an update. Leakers and data miners have been hard at work to find any signs of interesting upcoming content and it looks like one of them has stumbled across a goldmine. Apparently, the next Apex Legend is going to be Ballistic, and existing character classes will receive an overhaul.

Thordan Smash, a popular Apex Legends leaker and YouTuber is at the center of these leaks. His tweet revealing the upcoming character class overhaul is gaining some traction. Additionally, he posted a video on YouTube showcasing Ballistic and their abilities.

Is Ballistic the next Apex Legend?

This legend was originally leaked by Hypermyst, who posted an image of Ballistic on a banner in-game. Thordan Smash then deduced that this legend could be "Caliber" who is now known as Ballistic. Later on Thordan Smash posted a video on his YouTube channel talking about Ballistic and his abilities. However, he claimed that Ballistic might release in Season 17. According to him, Season 16 could be the first time the game will not be receiving a new legend, owing to the class rework. His abilities are interesting and look like they enhance Ballistic's team by improving their weaponry.

Passive - Weapon Sling
Ballistic carries a weapon sling that allows him to store a third weapon. This weapon cannot take attachments.

Tactical - Smart Bullet
Ballistic fires a projectile that debuffs enemy guns. Holding Q can lock on to enemies, giving the projectile aim-assist. If hit by the projectile, enemy guns will overheat as they fire them, which damages the enemy.

Ultimate - Weapon Enhancer
Ballistic lays down a weapon cache that enhances his squad's weapons. His teammates gain faster reloads, increased movement speed while unarmed and infinite ammo.

What's the class rework about?

According to Thordan Smash, the rework will categorize Legends across different classes. Each class gets special perks that distinguish them from other classes. It looks like the new classes will be Assault, Control, Recon, Skirmisher, and Support.

Assault - Can open red bins which provide access to ammo and weapon attachments. Can carry increased stacks of ammo.

Control - Unique perks unknown, excel at area control. These include legends like Caustic, Rampart, Catalyst and Wattson.

Recon - Already an established class. Can scan survey beacons. Bloodhound, Crypto, Seer, and Vantage

Skirmisher - Unique perks unknown, excel at 1v1s and capable of versatile movements. These include Horizon, Wraith, Octane, Valkyrie, Pathfinder and Mirage.

Support - Can open blue loot bins which provide access to meds, healing, and survival items. These legends excel at enhancing their team's kit providing survival support. Characters like Lifeline, Gibraltar, Loba, and Newcastle. It's rumored that Ballistic will also be a Support class.

As of now, this is all the info we have on upcoming leaks. The class overhaul is likely to lead to some legends receiving entire reworks. The community has been craving a rework for Pathfinder for ages now. Apex Legends is seemingly not doing well in Season 15 with streamers choosing to play other games and Twitch viewership taking a hit. It looks like such a radical overhaul could be exactly what revitalizes the game.
