A new Bot Royale mode will give players a safe place to practice in Apex Legends Season 22.
No, Bot Royale is not just a lobby of bronze players. The new Apex Bot Royale mode is a new fast paced take on the Battle Royale mode, where all enemies will be bots instead of other players.
This mode is designed primarily for new players to get to grips with the game. It will replace orientation matches in Season 22. However, it will be avaliable to all players.
Apex Season 22 details:
What is the Bot Royale in Apex?
You can play this mode with a team of 'Bot mates' or with your friends to run through the lobby. Developers wanted to create a space in the game where you can safely practice your gun play, experiment with legends and refine your movement tech. This means that while the Bot Royale was designed with new players in mind, this could be a useful tool for Apex players of all skill levels.
Respawn don't want high skill players to spend a lot of time in this mode though. You won't gain XP in Bot Royale if you are level 10 or higher in Apex. You'll also not be able to get badges or complete seasonal challenges in this mode.

Bot Royale is great for new players
However, the Apex Bot Royale will work hand in hand with the new welcome challenges for new players. These challenges have been specifically curated to work alongside the new Bot Royale mode. This will give new players a hands on head start in the game. Allowing them to get to grips with the mechanics, without facing other players. Crucially, this will stop 'smurf accounts' from tearing through brand new players.
Developers say the bots will be challenging for low skill players. Higher level players looking to practice might not face much of a challenge however.
The Bot Royale will be avaliable to all players when Apex Season 22 releases, August 6.
