Untouchable: Alliance dominates ALGS EMEA Split 2, Regional Finals next

Alliance’s Apex squad are running away with EMEA Split 2. After dominating every Group A vs C matchup and earning 124 of 150 possible points, they head into the Regional Finals as heavy favorites. Despite already qualifying for Champs, they’re still crushing everyone in their path.

Alliance's Apex squad is proving untouchable in the ALGS EMEA Pro League Split 2, and are the clear favorites to win the Regional Finals. Should they do so, they will become back-to-back Split winners in Year 5 of the ALGS.

Alliance formidable in ALGS EMEA

Alliance's record in Pro League so far is incredibly consistent, earning 124 out of 150 maximum points available. For context, in the Regular Season Rankings the maximum points any team can win in a single Round is 25.

Even more surprisingly Alliance managed max points in all three head-to-heads of Group A against Group C, winning all three. The Split 1 Regional winners also placed top 5 in five out of six Rounds of the Regular Season matches which now concluded.

The EMEA Final on Oct. 12 awaits.

Important note: The results of the Split 2 Regionals Finals will contribute points to the Regular Season standings, so Alliance #1 could change.

Go Next Esports stumble in critical final Rounds

The biggest threat heading into the final weekend of the regular season were Go Next Esports, who trailed Alliance by only 11 points, and NVMI, who trailed by 24 points. Both of the challengers had two rounds left to play compared to Alliance's one. Had Alliance faltered, Go Next Esports in particular could have leapfrogged to #1.

However, Alliance did not crumble.

Instead, Alliance secured the maximum of 25 points to finish #1 ahead of the Regular Season Finals. Meanwhile, Go Next Esports fumbled, earning only 29 points from their last two rounds of Regular Season matches.

Alliance refused to die in Game 2

Proof of the incredible form Alliance are in now came in Game 2 of Round A vs C. Alliance had to respawn twice in the early game and concede trying to claim Northpad. Yet, they came back with a vengeance in the mid-game to close out Game 2 with a 1st place, 19 kills and ALL three members still standing.

Alliance farmed kills by capitalising on Hakis' Alter portals to jump from the low ground to unsuspecting high ground enemies, a technique they rinsed and repeated masterfully.

After the two opening rounds Alliance had 40 points and by the end of Round 3: A vs C, Alliance had 84 points, 28 points clear of #2 Nova Gaia.

Alliance are the gatekeepers in ALGS EMEA

Alliance are already directly qualified for ALGS Champs 2025, and sit in 2nd place in the Championship Points Rankings with 5,880 points. Their points gap is so large that is statistically impossible they finish outside of the top 24.

Yet, while the results of EMEA Split 2 have no bearings on their own fate, they remain the gatekeeper for others. Alliance are the firm favourites to win the Regional Finals. Should they do so, it would mean EMEA teams not rolling in Championship Points will have to rely on the LCQ to qualify for Japan.

What remains unclear is what happens to the two direct ALGS Champs invite slots reserved for EMEA Pro League Split 2. If Alliance's victory voids both EMEA direct invites given they already qualified, it could well mean two more teams are invited based on Championship Points. Alternatively it could mean the EMEA LCQ gets two additional invites, although this seems less likely.

Either way, Alliance's run of form is truly terrifying. To perform at this level even with nothing on the line is a credit to just how committed the squad is. The ALGS EMEA Split 2 Regional Finals goes down on Oct. 12.

Will Alliance show mercy? Probably not.
