The ALGS Championship 2026 will feature a $2 million prize pool and 40 teams, the majority of which will be determined based on Championship Points accumulated in ALGS Year 5. Last year's event became the second most-watched event in Japanese esports history, reaching a peak of 540,000 viewers.
The finale to the ALGS season will be returning to the Daiwa House PREMIST DOME from Jan. 15-18, a 30,000+ seater venue that hosted the ALGS Championships 2025. Last year's event was won rather spectacularly by Go Next Esports.

The 40 teams for the ALGS Championship 2026 will be decided this weekend following the Regional Finals across APAC South, APAC North, EMEA and Americas. Both the winners of the Regional Finals and the overall Pro League get a direct spot in Sapporo.
Should the team already be qualified via Championship Points, the invite will not automatically go to #2 place, which adds a lovely bit of spice to proceedings.
Weather reminder
Sapporo is the capital city of Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island, known for its snowy winters and the annual Sapporo Snow Festival.
If you do travel to Sapporo do remember to expect sub-zero temperatures. The venue hall is easily accessible via subway and JR lines, but be prepared!
