The Apex Legends Global Series 2026 Championship (ALGS 2026 Championship), also known as the ALGS Year 5 Championship, has concluded in Sapporo, Japan with Oblivion players as the winners! What's remarkable about this victory is team Oblivion's journey to the top. It's the first team from a Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) to ever life an ALGS trophy! Oblivion players win ALGS 2026 Championship
In the end, Oblivion players Miguel "Blinkzr" Quilestook, Bowen "Monsoon" Fuller, and Brandon "FunFPS" Groombridge took home the gold with a total of 86 points. Blinkzr also became the tournament's MVP! Meanwhile, Team Falcons and ENTER FORCE.36 fought well and earned respectable silver and bronze placements. ALGS 2026 Championship schedule
This Apex Legends esports competition began with the Group Stage between Jan. 15 and Jan. 16. After that, the Bracket Stage featured the top 20 and bottom 20 teams fighting in the winner and elimination brackets on Jan. 17. The Finals Stage then happened on Jan. 18.

ALGS Championship Japan 2026 teams and groups
A total of 40 teams that entered the ALGS Year 5 Championship. They were all first divided into four groups of 10 to kick everything off. Oblivion began the tournament in Group D before making it to the Bracket Stage and then the Finals Stage. Its players then became eligible for the Match Point Finals in Game 7.

ALGS 2026 Championship matches
During the ALGS Year 5 Championship, the Group A teams first faced off against the ones in Group B, Group C teams duked it out against those in Group D, and so on. All of the groups faced each other before the Bracket Stage. The Bracket Stage then featured two elimination rounds plus a winners round before the Finals Stage, where only the top 20 teams battled under the aforementioned Match Point format.
