World of Warcraft: The War Within enters its second season on March 4, and there is quite a bit you can do as patch 11.1 goes live a week before.

With World of Warcraft (WoW): The War Within (TWW) now in a new patch, 11.1.0, there is quite a lot of brand-new features which will become available. However, much of this will only become available on March 4, when Season 2 goes live. That said, there remains a lot to do in this week, and we have a fair amount summarized below.

Getting Undermine(d) in Patch 11.1

Undermine, the new zone with the Goblin Trade Empire within continues the story of Xal’atath. But this also means that venturing into the new zone will require players to have completed the TWW leveling campaign, which can be seen in the image below:

With a week until the new season kicks off after the patch release, you will be able to run through everything if you have not done so already.

On release, chapters 1 to 4 of the new story will be available, while chapters 5 and 6 will come when Season 2 launches – meaning that you can spend the week catching up on the story and diving into the new parts in Undermine – including the new D.R.I.V.E mount system.

Learning your class

Patch 11.1 has an actual truckload of class changes coming to the game, with some specializations receiving complete overhauls. With that said, using the first week to get used to every change is always a great idea. With none of the new dungeons out until Season 2 begins, the week of little to do can give you a chance to look through the changes and maybe pick up a new class.

The final push before Season 2

There are a lot of things from Season 1 that will remain during the first week of Patch 11.1 and only disappear when Season 2 releases on March 4. Below is a list of some of these, which could fill your time or help you gear up before the new season.

  • While the new patch does release on Feb. 25, players should still be able to collect the Season 1 M+ Dungeon Portals until March 4. With Season 2, a new dungeon rotation will begin, giving players one final week to get things done. This may need a bit of work, since it requires a timed +10 Mythic Key, but is definitely not too difficult for someone with decent gear already.
  • This will also be the final week to complete 4 dungeons for the “Algari Dungeoneer” achievement, as after Season 1 ends, they will no longer be part of the rotation for Mythic. To do this you will need to complete the 4 TWW dungeons in the S1 rotation as Tank, DPS, and Healer.

  • For those who enjoy the raiding experience, this will also be the final week to obtain achievements such as Ahead of the Curve or Cutting Edge for the first raid. If you are looking for a challenge and have some Season 1 gear, this could be where you make your final push.
  • Delves were introduced in TWW and became a rather easy way to gear your characters, especially with Great Vault slots benefiting from these. With the final week before Season 2, there are a fair amount of Delve achievements that will disappear – including killing Zekvir solo on his ?? (yes, this is the level) difficulty. After Season 2 begins, new achievements will probably appear, but the Season 1 achievements will be gone.

  • Player-Versus-Player (PVP) enthusiasts are included in this, to some degree. While the final week before Season 2 will allow you to reach any rank you can, the likes of Hero of the Alliance (HotA) or Hero of the Horde (HotH) will not be attainable. For HotA and Hoth, as well as a few other PVP achievements, ratings will close right before Patch 11.1 goes live.

While this is often considered a “dead week” within the WoW community, it does give those who have not played for some time a good way to catch up on everything that has happened along the way.
