How to use the Dragonflight Revival Catalyst and get your tier gear!

The Dragonflight Revival Catalyst is here, and with it comes your chance to exchange that filthy, purple gear for lovely tier gear. Here’s how to get started.

The Dragonflight Revival Catalyst is here, and with it comes raid gear! Raid tier armor sets stand as the coolest of all World of Warcraft gear. Not only does the gear stand as a sign that you've raided and make you look cool, but the armor set bonuses provide drastic power increases to those that get a whole set. However, not everyone has the time to raid and grind that out. Or, worse yet, some of us just have terrible luck and just never get a hold of a full set.

Introduced in Shadowlands, we're here to show how to use the Dragonflight Revival Catalyst, which gives players the ability to transform certain epic gear into tier sets. The machine out in Thaldraszus does require some grinding and limits players to a certain number of uses. That said, if you're one or two pieces of tier gear short of a full set the Dragonflight Revival Catalyst should help.

Here's how to get started.

The Revival Catalyst room is located in a tower on the left-side of Tyrhold.

Your first step in how to activate the Dragonflight Revival Catalyst is the Tower of the Aspects in Valdrakken. At the top where the Dragon Aspects sit is the quest giver Watcher Koranos, offering the quest Reviving the Machine. The stone-man will send you out to Tyrhold, east of the capital.

Head into the tower room left of the main Tyrhold location and speak to Antuka, the Catalyst keeper. Here you'll get a weekly, account-wide quest called Revival Catalyst. This will send you off into the world to complete group quests and collect an item off rare mobs and bosses.

The kills that count for the quest include:

  • Primal Invasion rare mobs
  • Dragon Isles World Sieges such as Dragonbane Keep
  • Epic World Quests
  • Completion of a dungeon
  • Killing a raid boss
  • Winning a Battleground, Solo Shuffle or Arena match.

After you fill the progress bar on the quest tracker you can come back to Antuka to collect your Catalyst token. Here's the armor up for transformation:

Gear matching these armor slots transforms into Tier Set pieces from the Vault of the Incarnates raid:

  • Helms
  • Shoulders
  • Chests
  • Gloves
  • Legs

Gear matching these armor slots transforms into a piece of gear matching the Tier Set appearance:

  • Cloaks
  • Bracers
  • Belts
  • Boots

Choose wisely, as the machine may only be used once per week. Now, get out there and show off that new armor around Valdrakken!
