The VALORANT Error Code 54 can be quite a frustrating error to experience just as you are getting ready to game. The Error Code 54 is usually associated with server instability or connectivity issues. Here’s how to fix VALORANT Error Code 54 and start playing Riot’s FPS with your friends.

How to Fix VALORANT Error Code 54

Check Riot Games Server Status

If you have been playing VALORANT for some time without any issues and suddenly run into the VALORANT error code 54, then it might be a server problem. We highly recommend checking the game’s Server Status to see if Riot has a planned maintenance for VALORANT or otherwise. If Riot has a planned maintenance, then it might impact your game’s ability to download crucial components of the game.

In such cases, the best solution is to simply wait out the server issues. You might lose some of your ‘precious play time’, but there’s little we can do about it.

Restart Router

Most of the other solutions revolve around fixing any connectivity issues stemming from your router or PC. The first step to fixing any connectivity issues is to restart the router. To do this, we recommend going through the following steps:

  1. Switch off your Router
  2. Wait ten seconds
  3. Switch it back on

You can check if this simple solution works for you and if it does, then voila, you are free to start playing the game.

Change DNS Address

Changing the DNS address can also fix connection issues sometimes. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open a web browser.
  2. Enter your router’s IP Address  (it should be either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1)
  3. Log in with your username and password.
  4. Go to the DNS settings.
  5. Enter one of these DNS addresses (such as Google’s DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
  6. Save the changes.
  7. Restart your router if required.

Reinstall VALORANT

The final step is to uninstall VALORANT and install it again. This works well because it might ensure there are no corrupted files that are interfering with the game’s connectivity with Riot’s servers.

  1. Right click on Vanguard icon in the System Tray
  2. Click on Exit Vanguard
  3. Open Control Panel
  4. Go to Uninstall A Program
  5. Scroll to VALORANT
  6. Right Click on VALORANT and click uninstall

You will need to exit Vanguard if you want to uninstall VALORANT. Vanguard is a custom game security software, designed to uphold the highest levels of competitive integrity
